Your records and responsibilities

Your records. Clear responsibilities.

Your food business's operational, customer and order records belong with your Food Operations installation. Your hosting choice determines who operates that environment. Chyve account and subscription-billing records are separate.

Your business, understood

Different records. A clear home for each.

Keeping these responsibilities distinct helps you understand your setup.

Your Food Operations records

Menus, stock, purchasing and production records, together with customer and order records, live with your installation. That is your supported WordPress hosting with Software, or your Chyve-hosted workspace with Hosted or Site + Ops.

Your Chyve account and billing

Chyve maintains the account and subscription-billing records needed for your service. These are separate from your customers' orders and the operational records in your Food Operations installation.

Payment providers and connections

Payment providers and chosen connections handle information their services require. Hosting and support may need authorized access. Chyve does not pool your customers' orders into a central customer and transaction database.

Your choice of setup

Your hosting choice sets the responsibilities.

The tools share a purpose; the surrounding responsibilities depend on your package.

Software: on your hosting

You supply and maintain your supported WordPress website and hosting, apply updates and operate security and backups. Chyve supplies software releases and product support.

Hosted: an operated ordering service

Chyve operates the workspace and ordering service, including hosting, security, service updates and daily backups. Your separate website remains your responsibility.

Site + Ops: your website and food tools

Chyve supplies the website hosting, security, daily backups and product defect support. Maintain the site yourself or add optional care for supported application updates, checks and rollback.

Connect on your terms

Your connections, under your control.

Your domains, business listings and marketplace accounts remain yours. You grant appropriate, revocable access for supported connections. Review the access needed for your setup with an authorized administrator and the connected provider.

Critical local operational work is designed to continue when optional connections are interrupted. Features that need a connection wait for it to return; this does not make every feature fully offline.

Plan for the next step

Exports, recovery and moving on.

Confirm the supported steps before you need them.

What can I export?

Supported exports cover configuration and structured inventory reference data. They are not a complete export of every customer, order, recipe, production, payment or full-site record. For a move, agree the source data, supported format and migration scope first.

What do backups and recovery cover?

Configuration restore points are not complete site or database backups. With Software, you and your hosting provider operate backups and recovery. Hosted and Site + Ops include daily backups for the Chyve-hosted service.

Confirm the access and recovery arrangements for your setup. A configuration restore point does not replace those backups, and no instant recovery or zero data-loss guarantee is implied.

What happens when I disconnect or leave?

Confirm supported export, migration and account-disconnection steps before changing service. Agree what can be moved and when access ends. Revoking a connection can stop the features that rely on it; provider-held records have their own responsibilities.

Retention and deletion need their own confirmed process. This page does not promise an automatic deletion workflow or a fixed retention period.
