Understand the record you need before moving data or planning recovery.
An export, a configuration restore point and a complete site backup serve different purposes. Confirm the scope before you rely on one for a move or recovery.
Use an export for its supported records
Supported exports cover configuration and structured inventory reference data. They are not a complete export of every customer, order, recipe, production, payment or full-site record.
For a move, first agree the source data, format and migration scope. See preparing for migration.
Treat configuration recovery as a specific tool
A configuration restore point helps with the configuration it covers. It does not replace a full site or database backup.
Before making a change, identify what could need recovery and who will perform it. Keep the supported scope of the chosen recovery method clear.
Know who operates your backups
With Software, you and your hosting provider operate backups and recovery. Hosted and Site + Ops include daily backups for the Chyve-hosted service. Confirm the access and recovery arrangements for the setup you use.
Backup frequency does not itself promise instant recovery or zero data loss. Follow the data ownership and responsibility explanation for the maintained overview.
Keep connected accounts in view
Your domains, business listings and marketplace accounts remain yours. Their records and access arrangements can be separate from the Food Operations installation. Revoking a connection can affect the features that depend on it.
