Check the timezone behind your schedule

Make sure opening times and specials use the intended local clock.

Updated

Know which clock matters

A schedule should follow the business or location timezone, not whichever timezone a staff member's laptop happens to use. Confirm the location's named timezone before entering weekly hours, exceptions or timed offerings.

Compare a known time

Check a service or special with a start time you recognize. Compare the saved time, the customer-facing result and the local time at the location. Include the date: daylight-saving changes can make comparisons using only an hour misleading.

Before changing a timezone

Review existing schedules and future commitments. A timezone correction may change how a recorded time is interpreted. Write down the expected result and ask for help if you cannot determine how existing entries will be affected.

Report a mismatch

Provide the location, intended date and time, the timezone shown and the time customers actually see. Keep screenshots free of private customer details. Do not change several schedules until you have identified whether the underlying issue is the timezone.
