Set the question
Decide whether you need a business view, a location view or a report for a particular item or period. Confirm which scopes the report supports. A total is meaningful only when you know what it includes and excludes.
Check filters and units
Review the business, location, date range, timezone and measurement or currency context. Use the same basis when comparing periods. A report with partial valuation should not be compared as if it contained complete costs.
Compare known records
Trace a small sample back to orders, stock movements or production records you recognize. This helps catch a wrong location, date boundary or missing source before the result is used for a decision. Keep notes on any incomplete data.
Share appropriately
Export only the scope needed by the recipient and confirm they are authorized to see it. Do not combine records across unrelated client businesses for convenience. If expected data is missing, check permissions and filters before asking support to investigate the underlying records.
